As many of you have seen by now, we have finished the invitations. A lot of time and effort was put into making them, so we thought we would show you a few pictures of the process. Since we were creating our own invitations, I wanted them to have the same look and feel as the website. Although, credit for the overall design (folding and layout of the invitation) goes to Erica. I just did the graphics part. So, on with the pictures…

It’s coming up soon!
It’s crazy that we have less than 3 months until the big day! As the day comes closer, we’re trying to finish up all the plans. Liiiikkkkeeeee….
Flowers:
We decided on a florist! We are going with Victorian Seasons in downtown Apex. Before we went for the consultation, I was thinking that they’d be more expensive since they only do wedding flowers. As it turns out, the price they gave us was very reasonable, and I think they’re going to get everything done with flowers without very much effort or time from us. It’s nice to have that part of the wedding planning out of the way!
Catering:
We’re still making some decisions about catering. We’ll have some snacks and finger foods for our guests to enjoy at the reception, and of course, our delicious cake! We should be making some final decisions about the catering in the next week or so.
Invitations:
We’re making them! I’m really excited about how these will turn out. Check back in soon for some pictures.
Honeymoon:
Derek planned our honeymoon as a surprise for me. Although it’s all planned, there’s not much I can say about it. Ask me after we get back, and I can tell you where we went!
Oh, and in other news, I graduated!
The next few months should be really eventful for us!
Tuxes!
So on this past Saturday we picked out the tuxes that the guys will be wearing. I’m pretty excited about them because I wanted them to be different and still look nice. So, we picked out brown tuxes. The guys will be wearing a pool blue vest and tie, while I will be wearing a white vest and tie. Both look awesome together! Picking out the tuxes and finalizing some of the other wedding plans are getting me more and more excited about the wedding. Some days I wish it was sooner.
Below are a couple of pictures of the tux.
Wedding Cake!
I think my favorite part of wedding planning so far has been picking out our wedding cake! We’ve had wedding cake consultations at three places: Edible Art, Blue Moon Bakery, and Cinda’s Creative Cakes. It’s been really fun to look at different cake designs (you can do some crazy things with cake!) and of course, taste some cake flavors, frostings, and fillings.
For anyone else getting married soon, I would definitely recommend Blue Moon and Cinda’s. Blue Moon Bakery has some amazing cake. When we went for our consultation, they brought out a platter with all their cakes, fillings, and icing so we could try different combinations, and everything was so good! At Cinda’s we felt like she was really interested in making our wedding cake unique and special. Cinda’s very personable and seems really creative and easy to work with.
As for what we’re choosing for our cake, you’ll have to wait and find out… 🙂
Just make sure you come to the reception ready to eat something delicious!
