Asher is 18 months old now! That also means that Mercy is 3 years old, and Elias is 4 1/2! These kiddos keep getting bigger, and it’s the best!
A lot has happened in the last 6 months. Asher started walking around 13 months, and he’s pretty fast now! He knows lots and lots of words, but most other people outside of our family can’t really understand him yet. Asher has grown some new teeth and has maybe 12 now? Good luck getting in there to really count them.
Life with these three kids is so much fun and so tiring and so rewarding and so frustrating and so full. They’re the best, unless they’re being the worst, and then they switch back to the best again. We pray for lots of patience and kindness–for the kids and for me too! As they get older and they’re all officially out of the baby stage, I feel like the logistics of things have gotten easier. Everyone walks and can hold hands and can sit and feed themselves. Also, we only have one in diapers now!
I praise God for his goodness to us. There are days (sometimes weeks) that are so long, but we’re also really enjoying this time while our kids are small.
So, some updates on Asher:
Eating: Asher has turned into a somewhat picky eater :(. He usually eats a lot for breakfast and lunch, and then often nothing for dinner, He uses a spoon and fork really well, and we hardly ever help him eat his food. He loves fruit and would eat only that if we let him.
Sleeping: Asher dropped his morning nap around 12 months but still takes an afternoon nap. He’ll sometimes sleep for a few minutes if we’re in the car in the late morning, but he’s starting to think that replaces his afternoon nap, so we’ll be putting a stop to that. He normally sleeps at night from about 8 until 6:30 or 7 in the morning.
