Asher was 11 months old last Sunday (It was also my birthday. Hey, 31)! You guys, I could eat up his little smile with those gapped front teeth. I think this about all my kids, but Asher just keeps getting more fun the older he gets!
We took our first long trip with all the kids…like really long. We drove to Maine. The last time we drove there, we told ourselves we’d never do that again. So we did it again. The kids actually did super great in the car. Derek and I were tired (probably more him than me because he is a kind, kind man and did more than his share of the driving), but the trip went really well. We had a great time hanging out with family there.
This month’s updates:
Eating: we’ve cut out one nursing time, so Asher is down to nursing four times a day. I keep feeling like that’s a lot still, but he isn’t 1 yet so I’ll give it to him. I do think we’ll cut out another nursing time in the next couple of weeks because I’m ready to start weaning soon! Asher eats table food pretty well, especially if it’s fruit.
Sleeping: I think we’re also really close to cutting out the morning nap. Asher misses it pretty often because we’re just out doing things, and he often just doesn’t go to sleep even when I put him down for his morning nap at home. I won’t miss the morning nap!
Other developments: Asher mostly crawls normally now, up on his knees instead of the army crawl. He loves to pull up on things and has gotten very good at getting up and down. He’ll walk while holding our hands but hasn’t tried on his own yet. He has 4 teeth and a couple more that look like they want to poke through soon.
Weight: 26.2 lbs
Clothes: 18 months, 24 months/2t, size 4 diapers and 5 overnights
Likes: fruit, pulling his socks off and chewing on them, ripping books, tickles, pulling up on everything
Dislikes: being put down for naps, when the big kids take their toys away, wearing shoes
He wasn’t feeling the photos when Derek took them, so we got exactly one half of a smile. But here they are:
