Mercy is 8 months old! I feel like this is the point of having a baby where I think, “Oh, babies are so easy! She practically takes care of herself!” and I forget that just a few short months ago, I would have traded a kidney or the entire contents of our bank account in exchange for more than 3 consecutive hours of sleep.
That being said, Mercy really is a pretty easy baby now. She’s generally very happy and easygoing. She doesn’t require much entertaining. She has a very pleasant personality. We love this sweet girl!
Eating: Little one still loves to eat. She has started eating a lot more purees and solids, but she seems to still nurse just as much…so basically she just eats a lot more. She has liked every food we’ve given her, so it doesn’t seem like she’s going to be a picky eater.
Sleeping: This is about the same. Mercy still normally sleeps from between 7 and 8 at night until 5 or so in the morning, eats, and goes back to sleep. Still naps twice a day. Still doesn’t love being put down for a nap. She normally goes to sleep pretty well at bedtime, although she’s currently crying up in her bed as I type this.
Other developments: Mercy has really kicked up the talking this month. She loves to chat. Still no real “mama” though. She also is a pro at sitting up by herself. She’s not crawling yet, but she’s getting sooooo close!
Weight: 17.6 (bathroom scale)
Clothes: 6-9 months (the pants are snug and the sleeves are still long), 9 month pjs, size 3 diapers
Dislikes: waiting for food to be made, having her arms put into her sleeves
Likes: talking, her toy car, bouncing, Daddy’s hair, food, riding in the cart
And now NINE pictures because Derek couldn’t choose :).
