Somehow four months (and some days) have already passed since Mercy was born and it’s October??!?!??!? When did this happen and where did 2016 go? And how are my babies growing so fast?
I’m writing this shortly after putting Eli to bed in his “big boy bed” for the first time–aaaaand he was so excited to go use it that he didn’t want me to rock him. That’s ok; it’s good that he’s excited about it. I’m not crying, YOU’RE CRYING!
Ok, back to Mercy. Many of you know that I didn’t love the newborn stage with Elias, but I feel like I’ve actually been able to enjoy it with Mercy. We kind of have a better idea of what we’re doing, she came out eating great, and we know how quickly this time passes, so the past four months have been fun and I’ve been trying to enjoy it while it lasts.
I think this little girl is going to be feisty. She doesn’t like to stay still; she wants to be looking around, moving, and rolling over. She just had her 4 month checkup, and everything was great. She also had some shots, but she had a harder time with the tylenol and oral vaccine than the injections (gagging, gargling, lots of drama).
This month’s updates:
Eating: Pretty much all the same here. We also have the go-ahead from her doctor to start some cereals mixed with fruits and veggies and milk, but I think we might still hold off for a bit.
Sleeping: Mercy must have read my last update where I said we were officially down to getting up once a night and decided to prove me wrong there. In the last month, we had about 3 weeks where she got up twice, usually between 12 and 2 and then again between 3 and 5. Ughhhhh. I don’t know what that’s all about. For the past week, it’s been back to once a night…except last night, so we’ll see.
Mercy usually naps 3 times a day, with the first normally being in the ergo while we’re out walking or grocery shopping, the second being a longer nap in her room after lunch while Eli naps too (These happen SIMULTANEOUSLY sometimes! I feel like super mom on those days!), and the third back in the ergo or a short nap in the crib.
Other developments: We’ve gotten lots of laughs this month, and they are the bestttttttttt. Mercy has started talking a lot more and will grab toys and things to put in her mouth. She rolls over from her back to belly all the time now too.
