I was going to mention this on my last Mercy update, but then I thought it deserved its own post. And also…I forgot to write it into that update. Sometimes I think about doing things or writing things but then completely forget about it because BABIES! Can I still claim to have baby brain even though I’m not pregnant? What day is it? Did I remember to shampoo my hair in the shower this morning?
Anyway, I’ve been thinking lately, once again, about how much I appreciate all the people in our lives who love us and our children so well. We are very, very blessed by you guys. Sometimes in the midst of the fog of sleepiness, changing eleventy billion diapers, being one two weeks behind on laundry, and making sure my children don’t destroy anything (No, don’t touch THAT!), I find that I’m not being a very good friend, family member, neighbor, etc.
BUT I want you guys to know that we notice all the very kind and generous and thoughtful things you guys do for us and our children. Other moms who laugh at the awful poop stories with us (or text me back while I’m feeding Mercy at 1 am), family members who hold and take care of our children while we’re eating dinner, parents with older or adult children who give us advice on how to raise our kids and make this a happy time: THANK YOU.
Despite some of the challenges of having little kids, this is such a fun time for us, and you all are a huge part of the reason. I love seeing our friends and family loving on our kids and seeing our kids, especially Eli, loving them back. You guys are the best, and I thank God for you!
