Somehow our baby boy is no longer a baby boy! Where has the last year and a half gone? And where did this new baby in the house come from??
We have so much fun with Elias! We love his silly, sweet, adventurous personality.
Since it’s been 6 months since our last Eli update, there’s a lot of new things going on. I think the biggest thing is how much Eli is talking. He knows so many words! It seems like he’ll say something new every day, and we’ll say, “I didn’t know you knew that word!” He’s picking up on so much and starting to put together 2 or 3-word sentences and phrases.
Other updates:
Eating: Our little man can put away some food. We’re going to be at the grocery store (and broke!) all the time when he’s a teenager. Elias loves most fruits, most meats, beans, and all kinds of breads and crackers. He does okay with vegetables, especially if they’re mixed in some kind of sauce/soup/other flavor. He’s also been working on using a fork, and he’s doing awesome! We’ve only tried letting him use a spoon a couple of times (because the MESS!), but we’ll be working on that more.
Side note: For a while, Elias would call a “spoon” a “poonts,” but now he says it correctly. I’m gonna miss “poonts” :(.
Sleeping: Not much has changed here. Eli still goes to bed around 8 and gets up around 7 and then takes a 1.5 to 2.5 hour afternoon nap. We had a couple of weeks here recently where he was waking up during the night and crying a lot when being put down for bedtime/naptime, but I think that had more to do with his being sick and our recent household changes. He seems to be back on track now. Elias would always much rather be around people and playing than sleeping, but he’s mostly a good sleeper.
Other developments: Little man is running everywhere, figuring out how to close doors and get into everything, and like I said, talking up a storm! We’ve also been working on colors and numbers. Eli’s great at blue, orange, and the number two.
Weight: 25.2 lbs, according to our bathroom scale. He’ll have his 18 month appointment soon.
Clothes: 18 month clothes are starting to get a little tight!, size 4 diapers during the day and size 5 overnight diapers at night
Likes: being outside, rocks, playing in the water, swimming (he started swim lessons a week ago), trucks/buses/cars/airplanes/helicopters (which he calls “hot doctors”), “flying” with daddy
Dislikes: having to come inside, waiting for food to be made, having to leave his friends to go home
And pictures!
